Eames House Case Study No. 8

Visuals by Josephine Choe.

Located in the Pacific Palisades of Los Angeles, California, this beautiful house and studio was designed and constructed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1949. They lived there until they passed in 1978 and 1988, respectively. To say that this house was ahead of its time would be an understatement.

The home is nestled into the hillside, perched among the Eucalyptus trees and looks over the beach. They sought to design a house in harmony with the nature of the site, and believed in an honest use of and connection with the materials they used for the construction.
