Words and visuals by Josephine Choe.
South African artist Werner Bronkhorst brought his vivid, sculptural works to Malbon SoHo in GOLF IS ART, a three-day exhibition celebrating the creative spirit of the game.
Known for treating the world as a canvas, Bronkhorst creates with the belief that people live within art itself. His practice transforms everyday moments into visual statements—immersive, colorful, and alive.

“I always say that the world is a canvas and we’re just walking in it.”
– WERNER BRONKHORST

That spirit extended to “BIRDIE CHANCE,” a work offered for charity with all proceeds supporting youth golf initiatives. Beneficiaries included First Tee, which introduces kids to golf while teaching life skills like integrity, responsibility, and perseverance; Youth on Course, which makes the game accessible through subsidized rounds that encourage growth and community; and Pebble Beach Junior Golf, which offers young players the chance to develop their skills at an iconic course while fostering character and confidence.
